Returns, Refunds & Workshop Cancellation Policy
I want you to feel happy and confident when buying jewellery or booking a workshop with Sarah Munnings Jewellery.
Because my jewellery is handmade and my workshops are run in small groups, the policies below are designed to be fair to both you and my small business.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Jewellery Returns
Change of mind
If you change your mind about a ready-made jewellery purchase, please contact me within 30 days of receiving your order.
To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, the jewellery must be:
unworn and unused
in its original condition
returned safely and in a saleable condition
accompanied by proof of purchase
Please contact me before returning an item so I can provide the correct return details.
Once your return has been received and checked, an approved refund will be made to your original payment method.
For change-of-mind returns, return postage is the responsibility of the customer. Original delivery charges are not refundable.
Items that cannot be returned for change of mind
Unless required by Australian Consumer Law, change-of-mind returns are not available for:
custom or personalised jewellery
jewellery made specifically to your requirements
earrings, for hygiene reasons
gift cards
final-sale or clearance items
This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly described or otherwise does not meet a consumer guarantee.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Jewellery
Every piece is made and checked by hand, but if something isn't right, please get in touch.
Under Australian Consumer Law, products must be of acceptable quality, fit for their intended purpose and match their description.
If your jewellery has a problem, please contact me with:
your name and order details
a description of the problem
photographs where helpful
You do not need to have the original packaging to make a claim about a faulty product.
Depending on the nature of the problem and your rights under Australian Consumer Law, the appropriate remedy may include a repair, replacement or refund.
Where a product has a major problem, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
For a minor problem, I may first offer to repair the item within a reasonable time.
If an item is confirmed to be faulty, I will reimburse reasonable return postage costs where required under Australian Consumer Law.
Please contact me before sending jewellery back so we can work out the best way to resolve the problem.
Handmade Jewellery
One of the things I love about handmade jewellery is that no two pieces are completely identical.
Small differences in texture, shape, hammer marks, patina and finish are part of the handmade process and are not generally considered faults.
Enamel is created by fusing glass to metal at high temperatures. Subtle differences in colour, surface and firing marks are a natural part of this process and help make every piece unique.
If you're ever unsure whether something is part of the handmade character of your jewellery or a fault, please send me a photograph and I'll be happy to take a look.
Workshop Bookings
Public Workshops
I understand that plans sometimes change.
For public workshops booked directly with Sarah Munnings Jewellery:
5 days or more before your workshop
You may cancel or reschedule free of charge.
You can choose to:
move your booking to another available workshop date
receive a credit for a future workshop, or
receive a refund to your original payment method
Less than 5 days before your workshop
Because places are limited and materials and studio time have already been allocated, cancellations or changes made within 5 days of the workshop are not eligible for a change-of-mind refund or free reschedule.
If you can't attend, you are welcome to transfer your place to another person. Please let me know the new participant's name before the class where possible.
I will always try to be reasonable where exceptional circumstances arise, so please contact me if something unexpected has happened.
No-shows
If you don't attend your booked workshop and haven't contacted me beforehand, the booking is forfeited and no refund, credit or transfer will be provided, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
Workshops Booked Through ClassBento
Bookings made through ClassBento are subject to the cancellation and rescheduling terms displayed on the ClassBento listing at the time you book, together with ClassBento's applicable terms.
My current ClassBento public workshop listings generally allow free cancellation or rescheduling up until 5 days before the class.
Where a ClassBento booking needs to be refunded, the refund will be handled in accordance with the booking and payment arrangements that apply through ClassBento.
Any additional rights or guarantees offered directly by ClassBento are governed by ClassBento's own terms.
If I Have to Cancel a Workshop
Very occasionally I may need to cancel or postpone a workshop because of illness, insufficient bookings, venue issues or another circumstance outside my reasonable control.
If I cancel a workshop, you will be offered the choice of:
transferring to another available date
receiving a credit, or
receiving a full refund of the workshop fee
Where you booked through another platform, refunds may be processed through that platform.
Unfortunately, Sarah Munnings Jewellery cannot normally reimburse travel, accommodation or other expenses associated with attending a workshop, except where required by law.
Private, Corporate, School & Mobile Workshops
Private events, corporate workshops, school incursions, hens parties and mobile workshops involve reserving a date specifically for your group and may require additional preparation, materials and travel.
For these bookings, the cancellation, deposit and final-payment terms provided in your quote or booking confirmation will apply.
Please check these terms before confirming your booking.
Nothing in those terms excludes or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Workshop Consumer Guarantees
The Australian Consumer Law also provides consumer guarantees for services.
Nothing in this cancellation policy removes any rights you may have where a workshop or service does not meet the consumer guarantees that apply under Australian Consumer Law.
Gift Cards
Gift cards are not refundable for change of mind.
Any statutory rights that apply to a gift card remain unaffected.
Workshop gift cards are also subject to the terms stated when the gift card is purchased.
How to Contact Me
If something has gone wrong, please contact me before sending anything back. Most issues can be resolved much more easily with a quick conversation.
